Trends come fast and go even faster, but the best ones stay for a reason!
Our design team (which, by the way, grew in 2024) is always on the lookout for trends that not only help us stay relevant in the app industry but also fit into our design process, delivering the best UX/UI experience to users.
And in 2024, it was all about picking the right trends and going the "extra mile" in our app designs!
See which UX/UI trends made it to our Top 5 list this year!
1 Advanced Animations & Micro-Interactions
They might seem like small details, but when done right, they’re key to making an app feel intuitive and interactive. They’re not just there for the sake of aesthetics – we strategically place them within projects to improve UX/UI.
We plan them from the very beginning (during wireframing and the design process) and incorporate them into each app in a way that users notice without realizing they do. Yet, it makes all the difference in creating great design and better UX/UI.
Take a look at some of our projects with different types of animations and micro-interactions:
→ Animating Apps With Rive & Lottie in FlutterFlow
→ Parallax Effect with FlutterFlow
→ Animated Full-Screen Transition
And what’s the secret to maximizing the effectiveness of animations and micro-interactions? It’s all about ensuring they’re seamlessly integrated, optimized for performance across all platforms, and customized to fit the app’s design.
And of course, they need to serve a functional purpose and feel natural within the app!
2 Light & Dark Mode Combination
Not just in 2024, but the debate over light vs. dark mode has been everywhere!
We believe that every app is different, and so are your users' preferences. Maybe dark mode won’t be the best fit for your app, or maybe it will. That’s where our designers come in – offering expert opinions on which mode to choose to truly deliver the best possible user experience!

3 AI-Driven Design Tools
AI features from different design platforms have totally changed our design game!
Our go-to tool? No question – it’s Figma. After they released their AI features, our design-to-development workflow has been faster and more efficient!
The AI cuts down on repetitive tasks, fine-tunes our designs, and helps us get things done quicker without losing quality. What’s not to love?
Interesting fact: Our design team even attended the Config conference in San Francisco this year, where Figma AI was introduced for the first time.
And since then, these are the AI features we’ve been using in our design process, and lovin’ it:
→ Visual and AI-Upgraded Asset Search
→ Automatic Layer Renaming
→ Generating Designs from Text Prompts
→ Creating Instant Prototypes
→ Generating, Sorting, and Summarizing
→ Rewriting and Translating with AI

4 Cross-Platform UX Design
The main goal (and yeah, it can be tricky) for every designer nowadays is to create a consistent, user-friendly experience across multiple devices, while avoiding those awkward, mismatched layouts.
Whether users are on a phone, tablet, or desktop, they expect the same smooth, consistent experience. That’s why our designers pay close attention to both technical details and UI, ensuring everything works perfectly across all platforms.
Of course, a big consideration when deciding if cross-platform design is the best choice for your app is leaving the decision to experts – not only designers but also developers. They’ll evaluate user needs, functionality, and other factors to ensure they find the best fit for your app.
5 Going Bold in Our UX/UI
Our motto is 'GOING THE EXTRA MILE,' and we apply that to everything we do – including our design.
While we keep up with trends, we know when to break away from them and take bold risks.
The boldest step we took this year in our design was for sure with the WildSound app, where we went against the modern, fast, attention-driven UX. We slowed users down by intentionally designing the app and its interactions to encourage slow, mindful use, helping users relax and engage with the app at their own pace.
And guess what? This project won the App Design of the Year Award at FFDC in New York!
Honestly, we’re looking forward to what 2025 has in store for our design team and the exciting designs we’ll be working on!
