How we co-created an app that combats loneliness. CRW empowers users to create relationships with groups (CRWs), making it easier than ever to connect with others.

CRW is a start-up building an innovative group connection app focused on bringing ‘CRWs’ - like-minded groups - together, through shared experiences. We believe that the narrow focus on individuals prevalent in other dating apps, narrows the choices and simply makes dating harder.
Features

At any time, you can hold down the logo button in the center of the navigation bar to switch between modes. Whether you want to make new friends or go out for a romantic evening, the choice is yours!
Join CRWs
Join Social or Dating Crws with a simple swipe, in order to meet like-minded people with similar interests. Become a part of a community, join the chat and attend events.
Make plans within
CRW chat
Every CRW has its own chat, so it is easier for the members to catch up and meet!
Connect with other CRWs
Dating mode allows CRWs to connect with other CRWs to get together and meet up. Create meaningful romantic relationships through the power of group dating.
Create Events
To build real relationships people need to spend time together and enjoy their shared interests. The app offers users to create private events for their CRW members.
Design approach
BEFORE WE GET STARTED, GET TO KNOW OUR PROCESSES
The main focus of the app is creating relationships. But there’s much more to it - how to design an app that would make relationships and communication between groups (CRWs) simple and intuitive? The UX/UI process required a lot of research and user understanding in order to design an app that would make building friendships and romantic connection easy for its users.
UX design
This step allows us to dig deep into the app structure, including all the needed features and possibilities for the user. It is such an important part of design as it gives us a perspective on the product’s complexity. It lets us organise and prepare for the following steps.
UI Design
After the well thought-out wireframes we started by choosing our design direction. Two main colors were selected to distinguish between Social and Dating mode: Light green and Bright pink. We strived to achieve a coherent and intuitive visual appearance but also modern and attractive design at the same time.
Inter is one of the world's most used typefaces with applications ranging from computer interfaces. The Inter typeface ranges from a delicate thin 100 all the way up to a heavy 900.

Supabase & integrations
As client’s goal from the beginning was to scale the application for users all around the globe, we had to find a flexible and scalable backend that would support the growth. Supabase was a no-brainer, as it allowed us to build the backend quickly, while offering great scalability and security. Supabase’s slogan is “Build in a weekend. Scale to millions.” and the product is not far from the statement.
FlutterFlow
As we follow a pixel-perfect development approach, we had to go with a frontend that on one hand would not block our creativity, and on the other hand still allow us to build the app quickly. FlutterFlow was a great combination of both worlds. Easy integration with Supabase was just a plus.
Custom Components
A modern-day social and dating app has to offer an engaging user experience that would keep the users entertained. There was no way to achieve that without elevating the app with custom built components. These components were built in Flutter and later imported to the FlutterFlow project.
